Los Osos Public Chipping Event October 28-30, 2024
This is to notify you that the Los Osos/Baywood Focus Group, under the direction of the County of San Luis Obispo Fire Safe Council is conducting a chipping event for Los Osos/Baywood Residents.
This service is FREE of charge, but you need to register for the event so that the contractor can perform this service. To register for the service on October 28-30, 2024, you need to advise Jose Torres at jose.torres@stokedfire.net no later than October 27th, 2024 by 5:00pm.
The information needed to register is as follows:
- Name of resident(s)
- Address of service (Los Osos/Baywood only please!)
- Contact information (phone or email or both)
The following is very important:
This is not a landscaping clean-up project for residents, only cleanup of combustible fire fuels such as tree limbs, branches, leaves, bushes, shrubs etc., all materials should be easily accessible for the chipper and large truck (street curb is preferred), no construction materials, no dirt or large root balls, all materials stacked in a linear manner with cut ends facing out, no beehive style piles (Stack as in the photo example).
Complete your tasks by the morning of Monday, October 28th, and get the collected cuttings, trimmings, etc. picked up for free!
- Place everything at your curb no later than 8:00 am the morning of October 28th.
- There is no limit to the piles you put at the curb. Do not block traffic!
- There is no charge to haul it away. (Funded by the SLO Fire Safe Council.)
- All pruning pieces must be smaller than 6 inches in diameter. No large root balls.
- Cut ends facing out please.
- No ice plant.
- No pampas grass; no rocks, soil, no lumber or construction materials, no trash bags.
We hope to be able to help you with the clean-up of combustible fire fuels. Remember to register otherwise you will not be included in this event.
